Natural Ventilation in Low-Cost Housing: An Evaluation by CFD

نویسندگان

چکیده

With the spread of sustainability concepts, due to global energy crisis and unrestrained consumption natural resources, importance rational use reduction has been intensified, albeit in short steps. This concern taken up bioclimatic concepts buildings, especially housing buildings for low-income people, aiming at improving quality production terms its habitability. The objective this research is theoretically experimentally study ventilation a building, which fits into low-cost pattern. Computational Fluid Dynamics predict was adopted as tool perform these analyses. Experiments were carried out by visiting area collect data on air velocity, temperature, relative humidity all rooms residence order carry intended Computer simulation considering building with doors windows open fixed geometry performed. Results proved that proposed mathematical model able reproduce, rich details physical coherence, internal external flow inside indicating better performance environments have door window openings, recesses, revealing cross reduce temperature consequent improvement thermal comfort. idea help civil engineers specialists economically viable design from economic, social, comfort points view.

Natural Ventilation: Analysis of Indoor Airflow in an Assumed Cubic Building with Opposite Openings by CFD Investigations

The natural ventilation is an easy way to exchange the indoor polluted warm air with outdoor fresh air. The wind power injects outdoor fresh air into the building. A good indoor air current and subsequently a proper exhaust depend on the openings’ conditions and their situations. A serious architectural question is under what conditions of the openings the wind-cross ventilation can be effectiv...

Cfd Modelling of Buoyancy-driven Natural Ventilation Opposed by Wind

This paper presents CFD simulations of natural displacement ventilation airflows in which the buoyancy force produced by a heat source is opposed by a wind force. Cases investigated focus on windbuoyancy force relationships for which a two-layer stratification is maintained. CFD predictions of the position of the interface separating the two layers and the change in reduced gravity (temperature...

CFD Modelling of Atrium-assisted Natural Ventilation

Using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques to model buoyancy-driven airflows has always proved challenging. This work investigates CFD modelling of buoyancy-driven natural ventilation flows in a single-storey space connected to an atrium. The atrium is taller than the ventilated space and when warmed by internal heat gains producing a column of warm air in the atrium and connect space ...

Evaluating the Satisfaction Rate of Low-Income Communities about Low-Cost Housing (Case Study: Abadeh Mehr Housing in Iran)

As cited in the constitution of the Islamic republic of Iran, it's one of the responsibilities of the government to provide appropriate housing for the people of Iran. The main aim of current study was to assess satisfaction rate of a Mehr housing residents in Fars province, southwest of Iran. Randomly selected heads of 100 households residents of Abadeh Mehr housing for at least 1 year were as...

An Analysis of Natural Ventilation Function in Vakil Bazaar

Despite the similar performance of Bazaar1 in different cities of Iran, there are some the skeletal differences between markets in different climates. The Bazaar roof protects customers against natural events in any climate. The ceiling height and the sitting down of the Bazaar`s floor are determined based on the need for air circulation and movement in various climates. Hence, combination of a...
